5 Strange Houses People Actually Live In Posted: 06 Jul 2013 06:55 AM PDT 1. The Bubble House Have you ever noticed that weird houses often look like something out of science fiction, and in particular Star Wars? Well, if you haven’t, we’re about to tell you they totally do, including The Bubble House, which appears to belong on Luke Skywalker’s home planet of Tatooine. You’d think from looking at this place that it was built right around the 1970’s, when shag carpet and bizarre fashion were all the rage and, well, you’d be completely right. The Bubble House is located in Tourettes-sur-Loup, France, and has been designated a historical monument. It was even once owned by renowned fashion designer Pierre Cardin. The location of this thing more than makes up for how freaking bizarre it looks, as it sits above the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and offers panoramic views, which we suppose the rounded walls and windows lend themselves well to. It’s a unique and interesting looking home, but if you ever visit, be sure to watch out for Sand People if you venture out after dark. They’re easily startled, but will return, and in greater numbers.

The Infinite Monkey Theorem Have you ever heard someone, probably one of your asshole friends, say that there’s more chance of monkeys writing Shakespeare before he ever gets around to doing something? That’s the infinite monkey theorem. Also, your friend sounds like an asshole; stop hanging around with him. This theorem states that given an infinite amount of time, and an infinite number of monkeys, each with its own typewriter, eventually they’ll hit the keyboard in such a way that they manage to write the complete works of Shakespeare by accident. Of course, it’s not just Shakespeare. This theorem is more of a comment on probability and the nature and blah blah, but no-one ever heard that far because they all get the image of hundreds of thousands of millions of monkeys jumping up and down on a bunch of typewriters...wait, where were we? Oh yes, it’s not just Shakespeare. It could be any written work ever including Harry Potter, Stephen King or, if you hate literature, 50 Shades of Grey. Personally, we’d prefer a pile of shit-covered paper than that though.

Mutant Turtles: Legend of the Super Mutants Perhaps it’s not much of a shock that the Japanese adaptation of Ninja Turtles was as bizarre as a Gary Busey fever dream. After all, anime can sometimes be a trip down acid-trip lane. Aside from proving the Japanese aptitude for multiplying crazy and dividing by a seizure, the show ‘Mutant Turtles’ generally existed to parody children’s pop culture and sell toys. Speaking of which we’ll be back after this message… Although only two episodes were produced this anime still managed to take everything we dug about the Turtles and vomit gallons of ridiculous all over it. In the interest of everyone’s sanity we’ll summarize the show’s most glaring odd spots. For starters, the Turtles inexplicably had a fairy friend and spent their days trying to stop Krang (aka Octopus) and a mutated ‘Devil Shredder’ from awakening an evil fairy ‘Dark-Mu’. Because being teenage, mutant, ninjas wasn’t wacky enough the Turtles were granted additional Power Rangers-ish morphin’ abilities by a magic crystal that allowed them to transform into bootleg copies of Wolverine. Also, the show sent the entire Foot Clan on vacation to Miami Beach. Why you ask? We’re guessing even an army of robot ninjas appreciate time in the sun, drinking piña coladas and checking out the ladies. Damned if we know.

5 Strange Haunted Places in America Posted: 06 Jul 2013 05:17 AM PDT 1. The Devil's Tower (Alpine, New Jersey) As with most allegedly haunted locales, Devil's Tower has a fistful of origin stories. For the sake of brevity we're only going to focus on the best one. the story goes that a rich man living in the early 1900s built the tower for his wife so she could see the New York skyline without actually having to go to New York. One night before the tower's completion she went to the top to find her husband with another woman. Understandably upset, she threw herself from the top. That'll teach the cheating bastard. Ruined by the demise of his beloved wife (whom he cared about enough to cheat on), he ceased construction of the tower and sealed the underground passage leading to the tower out of fear of her ghost. Thrill seekers attempt to drive around the tower several times in reverse (the exact number given is six or eight in most cases). Upon the last completed trip around the ghost of the wife is said to poses your car and drive it into a tree. This leaves two questions: what does she have against motorists, and why the hell would anyone want to do that in the first place?
