JJ: Hi Karen. This is an absolute honour to have you with us at Inside the Porn. You've been entertaining us guys for a while and we are totally gobsmacked to have you with us.
So tell me how did you get into the industry?
Karen: I started dancing at a gentleman’s club. I decided I wanted to live a fun and exciting life, and the adult business seemed like a great occupation.
JJ: Well I can't imagine you finding more fun or excitement than being in the adult industry that's for sure
And what's the best thing about being in the industry?
Karen: There is never a boring day at work.
JJ: I imagine whatever job you had there'd never be a boring day at work haha
What's the worst thing about the industry?
Karen: The stigma attached to being in the adult industry.
JJ: The stigma is awful. I don't know why people aren't more accepting of it and it should be welcomed with open arms. I've never known harder working people than those in this industry.
What's the funniest thing to happen whilst you've been working?
Karen: I was shooting content for my website at a friend’s house and there was this little dog there. The little dog kept jumping up on the bed during the scene, so we had to put him outside the door. Then, he was scratching and whining so loud that we had to put him outside where he started barking like mad. That dog was persistent. I guess you had to be there, but it was really funny at the time.
JJ: That do obviously realised that was his chance to be famous haha. His persistence would have stood him well as an interviewer. Maybe I should give him a job.
What are you doing now work wise?
Karen: Well, right now it’s award season, so I've just done the XBIZ Awards and now it's the big AVN convention, as well as the awards ceremony. It's a super hectic time of year!
JJ: Yeah I'm feeling the pressure at the moment. Everyone wants their favourite people to be interviewed for the blog before AVN.

So what's the best thing about sex?
Karen: The orgasms are the best thing of course
JJ: There is no-one who has ever as an orgasm who can argue with that haha
And I ask everyone this question what is your favourite film?
Karen: The Shawshank Redemption
JJ: Now just when I think you could not be any more amazing you throw out my favourite film of all time. This could be love haha.
What's your favourite holiday destination?
Karen: Tahiti! I went last year and stayed in one of those huts that is built above the water. It was amazingly beautiful! I fed manta rays! I also scuba dived and swam with sharks.
JJ: Wow that sounds amazing. I've always wanted to stay in one of those huts. You'll have to tell me all about it later.
Tell me one thing about yourself that people wouldn't know just by looking at you.
Karen: I'm a total bookworm and I love to read!
JJ: Yeah, I'm a bit of a book worm too tbh. It's a great way to relax before bed for me.
What's been your biggest achievement in life or work?
Karen: Professionally, I would say my website. I've built it up for the past 14 years so, it's very important to me! I'm quite proud of it.
JJ: It's a great site and anyone who isn't subscribed to it should get themselves on it as it's got some of the hottest material you could ever hope for.
What's the most challenging thing you've had to overcome?
Karen: Having a brain tumor and going through brain surgery. It was the scariest thing I've ever been through and the recovery was brutally painful. I'm good as new now, though. I know brain tumors aren’t sexy, but I don't mind talking about mine because when I got the news, I was terrified. Meeting and reading about other people who had had brain tumors and who had survived brain surgery and lived normal lives made me feel so much better. So maybe, I can make someone feel better now with my story.
JJ: If just one person reads this and feels better then I'd be ecstatic. You're an incredibly strong and driven woman and your success is greatly deserved
What's the best thing a fan has ever done for you?
Karen: That's hard to say because I have so many great fans that have been very generous and kind. I love my fans!
JJ: Your fans are incredibly loyal to you and so they should be as you are one of the industry's finest.
How many scenes do you think you've done in your career?
Karen: Too many to count haha
JJ: And everyone who has ever seen your scenes is ecstatic that so much of your work is out there to purchase. They should really get on your site!!
What do you think you'll do once you've left the industry?
Karen: I have no idea. I can't imagine doing anything else. I love my job!
JJ: personally I'm very glad to hear you're going nowhere soon
So I know you're attending the AVNs. What are you looking forward to the most?
Karen: I am attending the awards and the convention. At the convention, I'm looking forward to seeing and meeting fans and seeing my old friends in the industry, as well as meeting new ones. As far as the awards, I'm looking forward to that being over! It's such a hectic night. You would think it would be fun, but it's not.
JJ: Seeing people you don't get to see that often is a big bonus about AVN. I am sure people are very excited about seeing you.
Finally Karen, what advice would you give to anyone coming into the industry now?
Karen: Don't do drugs, know your limits, get a good agent, and have fun!
